His honesty? Are you serious? Allardyce is one of the most sly, devious, self serving, arrogant, liar of a manger you're likely to see.

FFS, you seem to want to drag through a couple of thousand words to try and find some glimpse of the bloke being negative. Against the hard task part you having him saying we have a core of young players which is only going to get better and what in general is a pretty honest and positive.

I'd prefer his honesty to grants mumblings, zola's grin, curbishleys dour approach, pardew's smarm, rodent's angry ant cluelessness and Harry's blatant thieving. (Though I did like Harry at the time).

For me it's all about results through the end of the season.

I would say we are still miles away from a top six finish. 5 or 6 players, better than the ones we already have..

Won't happen.

Moving in the right direction though.

I can't remember the Southampton manager bleating that they ain't big enough or they have gone as high as they can or going to places and putting a weak side out as they can't possibly beat a team in the top 4, if you keep telling players they have over achieved you are opening the door for them to lose

BFS also uttered this on the sacking of Gary Megson in 2009

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2009/dec/31/sam-allardyce-gary-megson

"By contrast, Allardyce could not have been more popular with supporters throughout his hugely successful eight-year stint at Bolton, and the Blackburn manager believes that fan power has proved ultimately decisive in Megson's fate.

"Unfortunately for Gary, the fans wouldn't quite take to him – they didn't quite endear themselves to him and they always felt there was something they disagreed with, no matter what he seemed to do," Allardyce said. "I always think that's a very unfortunate situation because in the end, if your fans decide that they don't like you then you've got very little chance of keeping your job, no matter how good you are."

Looks like he found away around it

I'm sick and tired if BFS comments with hidden agendas.
As soon as we get rid of this fraud the better.
I also hope he takes Carroll and Nolan with him!

Re: BFS admits he can't take us any further.
See/ He's already playing mind games with G and S with all these comments about next year. Watch him ramp up these type of comments in the next couple of months. He'll have them eating out of his hands by the end of May. They'll be convinced by him that the season ended before Christmas and how could they ever have considered replacing him, Don't forget, we were actually 4th, yes 4th at one stage.

Another manager could take us on. Whilst I agree we would need an injection of cash and we don't, yet, have the resources to sustain top 6, we could break into it with the squad we have at the moment. Also, if we make that breakthrough and are playing in the Olympic Stadium, it could augur well for West Ham.

I understand what you're saying, chelmsford, but I think we've seen enough this season to show that this team has the potential for a top six finish so if Allardyce thinks he can't get the club to that level then that needs to be looked at.

I think you're missing the point and your argument is weak and ignores the obvious implications of what is actually being said rather than the interpretation you put on it. SA said -
"We’d hope we’d be as successful next year, but it’s going to be a major task to try to be that successful."

Well OK but, hardly inspiring as we are currently in 10th place and still dropping. We finished in 10th place the year before last. 13th last year after a long struggle of shit football.

Then SA went on to say -

"Certainly three or four quality players on top of this squad will make all the difference. And hopefully the players who are here now will be better next year than they are this."

Hopefully!!! He's one of highest paid coaches in the world FFS!

And this overpaid coach requires 3 or 4 more quality players to stand still! I'll bet David Sullivan is impressed with these words because it seems like SA believes survival is enough to keep him in a job when his target was clearly set out as top half but hopefully top 6...

Sorry Sam but that level of performance is failure...

Re: BFS admits he can't take us any further.
soh, what are you talking about?

Do you think an interview like this is going to have Sullivan on the phone 'sam, I was going to spend £25m this summer but after reading your interview I'll spend £50m'.

You must be deluded.

Re: BFS admits he can't take us any further.
He wants the owners to invest as much as possible into the squad.

Having ANY West Ham manager in a position to be pushing for this is fucking brilliant news.

stuartslater 10:05 Fri Mar 6
Re: BFS admits he can't take us any further.
You seem to have changed your argument. You said he didn't say he had taken us as far as he could.

By saying 'HARD TASK to match this season' he is actually saying that standing still is a big achievement.

Are you happy with the manager of your team saying that?

chelmsfordhammer 10:01 Fri Mar 6
Re: BFS admits he can't take us any further.
Stuart, to be honest I don't really give a fuck what the md of my company says.

As for what our manager says, I would think he's pretty deluded if he said. Yeah next season we'll break into the top six, no problems, it's a piece of piss , look at all the other clubs that have done it without a huge injection of cash.

The thing is , most of those slating him for pointing out the obvious would be calling him a lunatic for stating we would break into the top six next season, because they're so wrapped in their anti allardyce stance that they can't understand that every now and then he does actually talk some sense.

stuartslater 9:50 Fri Mar 6
Re: BFS admits he can't take us any further.
We’d hope we’d be as successful next year, but it’s going to be a major task to try to be that successful.

Can't be bothered to read it all but above is one quote.

Is that a man who can move the team on talking?
Would you be happy for the MD in your company talking like that?

chelmsfordhammer 9:39 Fri Mar 6
Re: BFS admits he can't take us any further.
Stuart, he said what most people with anything resembling a brain already knows. That without a large injection of cash it is difficult to break into the top six. Why don't you read the article for yourself and then explain what part of it resembles anything like what you claimed he said.

stuartslater 9:28 Fri Mar 6
Re: BFS admits he can't take us any further.
So, is he saying he will move us on?
